FOXBORO -- Josh Gordon has only been with the Patriots for three full days, so clearly he has a long way to go learning everything he needs to when it comes to the Patriots offense, but according to Tom Brady he's doing what he can.

″[He’s] really been eager to get in there and learn everything we’re doing,” Brady said Friday. “You know, just try to acclimate himself to what the program is.”

Gordon's locker is located next to Brady's, which likely was not by accident -- although Brady said it's Bill Belichick's decision.

Although some have set the bar very high when it comes to expectations for Gordon, both Brady and Belichick have been downplaying them. It's very difficult to pick up the Patriots offense, especially coming in during the middle of the season.

“We’ll see how it goes," Belichick said.

When pressed on how Gordon has looked in practice, Brady indicated there's a lot to developing chemistry with a new wide out and it just doesn't happen in a few days.

"I think we’re working at it," he said. "I mean, look, he’s been here for a few days so we’re working at it every day and every day you try to make improvements. We’re out there – everyone who’s out there is working hard, trying to practice, doing whatever they need to do to understand the playbook, to understand routes, understand how we do things. So we’re just trying to work at it."

Gordon is battling a hamstring injury and it remains unclear if he will play Sunday in Detroit, but if he does, it would seem it would be in a limited fashion with only specific formations.
