FOXBORO -- This is Josh Gordon's first season as a member of the Patriots, but he knows what these games late in the year mean.

Historically, the Patriots have dominated the month of December heading into the postseason. Since 2001, the Patriots are 62-11 in the final month of the regular season.

"This part of the season is Patriots football," Gordon said Thursday. "It’s what we’re known for. We have to put our foot to the gas and keep it going.”

Gordon is coming off arguably his best game of the year with the Patriots when he had five catches on five targets for 70 yards against the Jets. The receiver believes things can carry over from week-to-week so he can build on a game like that.

“I think so," he said. "We build on plays made, plays missed and things that we think we need to get better on. We always feel motivated, but there is some momentum coming off of last week’s road win. This week we are back home in front of our fans and it is a big game. I think we’re going to step up to the plate and attack it.”

The 8-3 Patriots will host the 6-4-1 Vikings in a game the road team desperately needs, while the Patriots need it for seeding in the AFC.
