FOXBORO -- More information is coming out regarding Josh Gordon's suspension.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Gordon violated multiple terms of his reinstatement and it was more than marijuana.

"My understanding is Josh Gordon was suspended for multiple violations of the NFL/NFLPA substance abuse policy," he said on NFL Network Sunday morning. "It's not like it was, say, one missed test. It was multiple. And from what I am also told it is more than marijuana. So clearly, for Josh Gordon, this exiting of football to focus on his health is something that is needed."

Rapoport also added there is a chance, albeit small, that Gordon could play at the start of the 2019 season if he proves for an extended period of time he's sober.

The wide receiver played in 11 games with the Patriots and had 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns.
