FOXBORO -- After both the Patriots and Browns announced the Josh Gordon trade Monday and it was on the NFL league wire Tuesday, the thought was Bill Belichick would finally address the move Wednesday at his weekly press conference.

"I'm not going to talk about players that are not actually, I would say, on our roster, totally," Belichick said. "So when that happens, it happens, if it happens."

Belichick got irritated when multiple follow-up questions were asked and responded, "Any other questions?"

It's reasonable to wonder why he still won't discuss the player, but perhaps it's because of the terms of the trade are still being tweaked.

According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, the hold up is related to a tweak in language. The pick the Patriots will get back from the Browns is a seventh-rounder, and it is not conditional. It appears the Patriots will get Gordon and the Browns' seventh-round pick in exchange for the Patriots' fifth-round pick.

Belichick not talking about a player who is listed on the official roster is unusual even for Patriots standards.
