FOXBORO -- The win over the Bills last week cost Julian Edelman a lot of money.

The Patriots wide receiver was fined a total of $63,504 for three different penalties in the game. It broke down to $10,026 for unnecessary roughness and then $26,739 twice also for unnecessary roughness.

Speaking after Sunday's 38-3 win over the Jets, Edelman said he would be appealing and didn't seem too thrilled.

“Honestly, that is under appeal so we will see how that goes," he said. "I don’t know. I guess the game is changing a little. The fair-catch one, I obviously brain-farted again against the same team. The other two, you just have to learn from what they want and you have to adapt. That is what I am going to try and do to the best of my ability and go from there.”

Sunday's win over the Jets gave the Patriots a bye for their ninth straight year as the team now waits to see who it will play in the divisional round.

“There is definitely a lot of studying, and there will be some practices," said Edelman of the week ahead. "Coach [Belichick], he’s definitely a stickler with practice. But, it definitely helps you to go out there and it helps you build your confidence and there will be a lot of studying.”

Edelman recorded five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown in the game with his touchdown coming on the final offensive possession for the first-stringers to send them into the bye feeling good.

“It was definitely good to go out and end it like that, the regular season," he said.
