FOXBORO -- Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday for many, including some strong food opinions.

Julian Edelman appears to be one of them, as he went on a long rundown of his food choices when speaking on Wednesday.

"I'm not a picky eater," he said. "I like it all, but the one thing I do need to have, I like canned cranberry. Gotta keep it in can form, mom slices it."

Added Edelman: "My mom makes this red cabbage, it's a German dish, it's a bit sweet. I'm a big gravy guy, put it all together, I mix it all up. Red cabbage, green bean casserole, stuffing with mashed potatoes. My mom does a croissant, like a butter biscuit croissant, turkey -- I like dark meat."

The Patriots wide receiver said his family is coming to town to celebrate with him.

"It's a fun holiday," Edelman said. "You get to watch football, eat and hang out with the family. It's pretty good."

Bill Belichick gave the team the entire day off because they were able to get an extra practice in earlier in the week due to last week's bye. The Patriots will practice Friday one more time before Sunday's game against the Jets.
