Bill Belichick said there just wasn’t a roster spot available for him when he was asked why Monday with Ordway, Merloni & Fauria, and then a day later Tom Brady appeared disappointed.

Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Tuesday, Julian Edelman offered his thoughts.

“Playing here for so long, I’ve seen a lot of stuff go down. You’re never really surprised,” he said. “You keep your head down and worry about what you have to do to contribute to the team. It’s part of the business. It’s a sucky situation. Unfortunately, you’re never surprised.”

In other news, the wide receiver is battling a chest injury that clearly was impacting him last week in Washington, but he’s pushing forward.

“Feels a day better than yesterday,” said Edelman.

The Patriots will host the Giants Thursday night.
