If the Patriots do host the Browns in Week 1 of the NFL season, they will not face running back Kareem Hunt.

The NFL announced Friday Hunt has been suspended eight games for violating the league's personal conduct policy in connection with physical altercations at his residence in Cleveland last February and at a resort in Ohio last June. Hunt will not appeal.

Following the trade for Odell Beckham Jr. this week, it has only added to the hype surrounding the team, which is why some feel it could be attractive for the league to have them play the Patriots on the Sunday night of Week 1.

After video of Hunt kicking a woman surfaced late last year, the Chiefs released the running back and then the Browns signed him Feb. 11.

On the field, Hunt is one of the best running backs in the league. Last year, his second in the league, he recorded 824 yards rushing and seven touchdowns in 11 games.
