Even though offensive tackle Marcus Cannon missed most of training camp and all of the preseason, it looks like he will be on the field for Week 1 against the Texans.

According to The Athletic's' Jeff Howe, Cannon is expected to be cleared to play in Week 1. The veteran tackle has been out with a leg injury suffered Aug. 1.

This is big news for the Patriots, as he's become one of the best tackles in the game.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Patriots keep an extra tackle or two because Cannon may not be 100 percent by the time next Sunday rolls around, and there's some concern over left tackle Trent Brown's conditioning and being able to play every series, especially in September.
