FOXBOROUGH -- Mohamed Sanu hasn't been with the Patriots that long, but he's quickly learned how tough Julian Edelman is.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The wide receiver missed his first practice of the year Wednesday with a knee injury in addition to a previous shoulder injury. Earlier in the year, he was dealing with a rib/chest injury. Despite all these injuries, he hasn't missed any games and is on pace for a career year.

“Man, y’all don’t understand how tough Jules is,” Sanu said Wednesday. “That dude’s tough. He’s a tough son of a gun, and he goes out there every day. Whether there’s something aching, something biting or whatever the case may be, he gives it all he’s got. Even when they tell him not to, he’s still out there, and that’s what I love about him. I love to compete with him, man.”

He added: “You can see how tough he is in his play. They don’t call him Squirrel for nothing. He’s a bad man.”

Through 13 games, Edelman has 90 receptions for 1,010 yards and six touchdowns.

Edelman is not expected to miss Sunday's game, but if he does it would be a huge blow to Tom Brady and the Patriots' passing game.
