Mookie Betts named AL Player of the Week

Mookie Betts continues to make the most of his first full season in the big leagues. The center fielder has been named the American League Player of the Week for the week ending June 21. Betts batted .581 (18-for-31) with eight runs scored, two home runs, three doubles, two triples and seven RBI over seven games to claim his first career AL weekly honor. Betts is in the midst of a nine-game hit streak where he's hitting .556 (20-for-36) with nine runs scored, four doubles, two triples, three home runs and eight RBI. Six of his nine games have been of the multi-hit variety and he has collected more than three hits in four contests.
