KANSAS CITY -- It appears Patriots de facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores will meet with the Dolphins again this week no matter what happens Sunday night against the Chiefs.

Of course if the Patriots lose, he's free to do whatever he wants, but if the Patriots win and advance to the Super Bowl, NFL rules permit another interview the week before the big game.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, per NFL rules it is then "the club may commit to hiring the coach as its head coach” and Flores and the Dolphins will plan a staff as well as go over other things.

The biggest thing at this point will be his staff and it will be interesting to see who he has in mind, and if it includes any current Patriots coaches.

After blowing Miami away in the interview process, Flores reportedly will become its next head coach whenever the Patriots season ends.
