ATLANTA — The only Patriots receiver (besides Matthew Slater) on the 53-man roster who is under contract for 2019 is Julian Edelman.

Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson will all be free agents. It seems unlikely all three will be re-signed, but that doesn’t mean they all don’t want to return.

“Yeah, [I want to come back],” Dorsett said Thursday. “They traded for me for a reason. I love it here. They work hard every day and that is how I was raised.”

While Patterson said he hasn’t thought about being a free agent, he did seem to indicate he wouldn’t mind a return.

“My mind never thinks about anything like that,” he said. “If you start thinking about things like that you start messing up on the field. Free agency, man, I haven’t thought about anything like that at all.”

Patterson added: “I love it here. Whatever happens in March, happens. Of course, a guy like me would love to be here, but that is not my decision. I keep that to the guys upstairs and whatever happens, happens.”

Meanwhile, Hogan hasn’t thought about it at all and is just letting things play out.

“I am a firm believer of focusing on what I can control,” Hogan said. “What I can control is my effort and how I play in these games and just trying to do whatever it takes to win these games as a team. All that kind of stuff, that just takes care of itself. Whatever happens, happens. All my focus is playing on Sunday.”

Of these players, it feels like Dorsett has the best chance of returning, while Patterson has the slimmest. Hogan will be interesting, as it could be a case of him not getting the offers he wants and then maybe coming back on a one-year deal.

Time will tell.
