FOXBORO -- The Patriots have certainly embraced the underdog role and proving people wrong this season on the way to their third straight Super Bowl appearance.

It continued Sunday in Kansas City when the Patriots beat the No. 1 seed on the road, 37-31 in overtime.

Speaking Wednesday at Gillette Stadium, linebacker Kyle Van Noy was asked if he enjoys proving people wrong, and he had an interesting response.

“That is fun, but I want to prove the people right," he said. "There’s a lot of people — our families, teammates — that believe in each other. We went to prove those people right. That’s at least what I want to do.”

Van Noy had a monster game against the Chiefs, finishing with a team-high 10 tackles when the second-highest total was three (Devin McCourty, Lawrence Guy and Elandon Roberts).

Relating to the Super Bowl, the veteran linebacker was asked about how he decides who to give tickets to and had a pretty direct response to people who come out of no where.

“You just gotta say, ‘Hell no,'" he said.

The Patriots will take on the Rams Feb. 3 in Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII.
