Brian Flores is taking a few Patriots assistants with him to Miami.

The Dolphins announced Flores' coaching staff Friday afternoon, and it included some familiar names: Chad O'Shea (offensive coordinator), Josh Boyer (defensive passing game coordinator/cornerbacks coach) and Jerry Schuplinski (assistant quarterbacks coach).

All three had been with the Patriots for some time. O'Shea and Schuplinski were known, but this was the first known mention of Boyer leaving for South Florida.

“Chad is extremely smart, innovative and hard-working,” Flores said of O'Shea. “He brings a lot of energy to practice and meetings. Chad has a great rapport with players. He has earned the trust of a lot of guys he has worked with from Randy Moss to Wes Welker to Julian Edelman. Chad has gotten the most out of his players from the 10 years I have been around him.”

Boyer had been with the Patriots for 13 years. most recently as cornerbacks coach (2012-18). Schuplinski spent the past six seasons as an assistant with the Patriots, most recently as assistant quarterbacks coach.
