FOXBORO -- Following a week off, the Patriots will get back on the field Sunday afternoon against the Chargers in the AFC divisional round.

For most, it's another playoff game. But for some members of the team, it will be their first experience.

“One play at a time, one game at a time," defensive end Trey Flowers said. "I don't get too high as far as all the possibilities, as far as looking forward into the future, things like that. Obviously, I've been a part of the ultimate goal and on the opposite end of it as well. So just kind of take it one game at a time, one season at a time. This is a whole different season, whole different team and just taking it one play at a time.”

"It’s an exciting time of year, just try to live in the moment, don’t take the opportunity for granted," running back James White added. "Just don’t want to have any regrets and you’ve just got to put your best foot forward not just on game day, from today throughout the rest of the week. High intensity, pay attention to the little details, watch as much film as possible, try and know your opponent as much as possible if you want to come out with a win on Sunday. It’s going to take a lot of effort in all aspects of the game. So definitely have fun but at the same time, it’s just a game at the end of the day but you want to have your best effort."

While those two players have plenty of experience to rely on, Jason McCourty does not. Despite being in the league for 10 years, this will be his first playoff game.

"I'm just taking it day-by-day," he said. "I can't say I'm nervous at this point, today was a Wednesday and you're just trying to get everything accomplished you typically do on a Wednesday. I think obviously at this time of the year, you just realize, hey, if things don't go the way we want on Sunday, we come here Monday and we pack our stuff. So you just try to do a little bit more this Wednesday than you did the prior Wednesdays of the season and just trying to get as much done as you can preparation-wise to put yourself in the best position come Sunday."

Rookie J.C. Jackson on the other hand did admit to some nerves heading into his first postseason experience.

“Of course I’m nervous,” he said. “This is my first playoff game. I’m nervous, but I’m ready. It’s a ready nervous.”

The Patriots have a few more days of prep with practices Thursday and Friday.
