FOXBORO -- Two of the most popular Patriots players from the last few years will be on the other sideline Sunday afternoon when the Patriots host the Dolphins -- Danny Amendola and Brandon Bolden.

Amendola signed a two-year deal as a free agent this offseason, and then after getting released on cut-down weekend, Bolden signed with Miami a few days later.

On Wednesday, there was a lot of praise of these two players from their former teammates.

"He’s quick, he’s feisty," tight end Rob Gronkowski said of Amendola. "Definitely miss that guy but he’s doing what he’s got to do and it’s going to be good to see him."

Special teams captain Matthew Slater had a lot of positive things to say about Bolden, as the two were primary special teams players over the years.

“I’m not ashamed to sit here and say I love Brandon Bolden,” Slater said. “I appreciate him. I appreciate his friendship. I appreciate the time I spent here with him. I learned a lot from him. He made me a better football player. I’m thankful for him. There’s no question about it. Come Sunday, we’ve got to get that guy blocked. We’ve got to know where that guy is at all times, because he’s a heck of a player.”

“I mean, that sucker’s tough," he added about Amendola. "I haven’t played with too many guys like that. I say all that understanding we’re competing against these guys on Sunday. The priority will be going out and executing and playing very well. But I’m not ashamed to say how I feel about those guys.”

While it will be all business on the field, expect a lot of hugs between these two and their former teammates after the game.
