When it comes to the Patriots and the NFL, there really isn't much of an offseason.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the team has re-signed offensive lineman Brian Schwenke to a one-year deal worth $895,000. The veteran was scheduled to be a free agent next month.

He was on the Patriots' active roster for the first half of the 2018 season, but played in only three games. Eventually, he was placed on injured reserve Nov. 6 with a foot injury. The interior lineman was signed by the team in late July.

In other news, it appears another coach has been added to the staff.

According to The Vindicator, Youngstown State offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo is joining the Patriots as an assistant offensive line coach. This would seem to indicate Cole Popovich will be promoted for next season, as he's worked alongside Dante Scarnecchia for a few years.

With five coaches departing, there are still more additions that need to be made.
