So much for the Bill Belichick was vacationing in Barbados during the start of free agency narrative.

Photos of Belichick and girlfriend Linda Holliday surfaced last Monday, but they were from over the weekend and speaking to NBC Sports' Peter King this past weekend, agent Drew Rosenhaus made it clear the Patriots coach was still working.

“Don’t let those photos fool you,” Rosenhaus said. “We talked one morning at 4:30 about Trent Brown. They wanted to keep him.”

Brown ended up by signing a four-year, $66 million deal with the Raiders, which the Patriots would never have come close to matching.

So, while it may have appeared like Belichick wasn't fully invested into free agency, that couldn't have been any further from the case.
