The month of March will be a busy one for the Patriots with roster moves, and the first were officially announced Monday.

As ESPN's Adam Schefter reported over the weekend, tight end Dwayne Allen was released, and so was wide receiver Darren Andrews.

In two seasons with the Patriots, Allen had just 13 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. He was traded from the Colts two offseason's ago. His cap hit was around $6.5 million for 2019, so the team will save a good amount against the cap. Schefter said he could potentially return on a lesser salary.

Andrews was an undrafted rookie last year, but spent the year on the reserve/non-football injury list.

There will be a number of moves made over the next few weeks with the new league year and free agency beginning March 13.
