The Patriots' scouting department has taken a significant hit.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, national scout DuJuan Daniels is leaving the Patriots to join the Raiders as a senior executive. Daniels has been worked in the Patriots scouting department for the last 13 years, including the last six as a national scout.

Daniels was a four-year player at Boston College, which could be what connected him to Raiders GM Mike Mayock. Daniels apparently has aspirations to one day become a general manager and perhaps there's a better path to that in Oakland than in New England.

The Patriots scouting department is led by Nick Caserio and Monti Ossenfort, both of whom have declined interviews with other organizations in recent years.
