This past week, tight end Jared Cook signed with the Saints, which meant the Patriots once again had a player choose another team over them.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots aggressively courted Cook before he signed with New Orleans. The report noted Rob Gronkowski's uncertainty for 2019 factored into his decision, as Cook has a better chance of rising to the top of the depth chart with the Saints.

The 31-year-old is coming off his first Pro Bowl season with the Raiders where he recorded 68 catches for 896 yards and six touchdowns.

Cook is entering his 11th season in the league and has played for four teams -- the Titans, Rams, Packers and Raiders.
