Although it was just a walkthrough Sunday, the Patriots got some good news on the injury front.

According to those on site, running back Rex Burkhead returned to the field after missing everything since an Aug. 8 practice. It's been reported he's dealing with a minor tear in his knee, but he's expected to play through it. Him being on the field now is a good sign for his availability for Week 1.

Others to miss the session were running back Sony Michel, linebacker Harvey Langi and offensive linemen Marcus Cannon and Isaiah Wynn. Wynn of course reportedly is out for the year with an Achilles injury suffered in Thursday's preseason game.

The Patriots will travel to Carolina later in the week for Friday's third preseason game.
