Patriots get good news at practice on Wednesday
FOXBORO -- The Patriots got some good news at their first practice of the week leading into Sunday's AFC divisional round game against the Chargers.
After suffering a concussion in the regular-season finale and missing practice all last week, safety Devin McCourty returned to the practice field Wednesday. He was part of perfect attendance for the session on the lower grass field behind Gillette Stadium. Also returning was Dwayne Allen, who also missed last week's two practices.
Meanwhile, tight end Jacob Hollister was not present as he was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with tight end Stephen Anderson replacing him on the active roster.
The first injury report of the week will be released later in the afternoon.
New England will practice again Thursday and Friday before Sunday's big game.
