After being fired by the Dolphins following last season, Adam Gase stayed in the AFC East as he's now in New York as head coach of the Jets.

What was his No. 1 message to his team as they began the season with the voluntary offseason workout program? Beat the Patriots.

“We’re going for that one team that’s been winning every year in that division,” linebacker C.J. Mosley told reporters. “[Gase] said that’s one of the main reasons he came here and we all believe that and the guys that are new additions to the team, we’re pretty much here for the same reason. We know there’s one team that’s been on top for a long time. We feel we have the (attitude) and the players and the game plan is to get that done.”

Mosley has been impressed with Gase's energy.

“We feed off that energy,” Mosley said. “If they’re confident, then that makes us confident. And when we’re both confident together, especially knowing out game plan and knowing what we can and can’t do, that can make us a dangerous team.”

The Patriots have won the AFC East 10 straight years.
