Due to the early exit in the playoffs, the Patriots have more of a presence at the Senior Bowl this week in Mobile, Alabama.

Listen to your team news NOW.

And according to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline, some Patriots scouts were "gushing" over SMU wide receiver James Proche. This really doesn't mean much at all, it's just something to store away for later as the draft gets closer.

The 6-foot wideout had a solid college career at SMU.

Proche finished with 301 receptions for 3,949 yards and 39 touchdowns. His best season came last year as a senior when he totaled 111 catches for 1,225 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also had over 1,000 yards as a junior.

The Senior Bowl game will be played on Saturday, but practices have taken place all week.
