FOXBOROUGH -- This is unusual.

Listen to your team news NOW.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, some of the Chiefs' gear for the game against the Patriots was not taken off the team plane and was mistakenly sent to Newark, New Jersey. It is now being rushed to Gillette Stadium and is scheduled to arrive between 3-3:30 p.m. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m.

The bags apparently contained helmets, footballs and shoulder pads. Roughly 35 players are impacted.

If they do not arrive in time, Kansas City would forfeit the game. The Patriots, nor the league, is responsible for the bags -- it is totally Kansas City's responsibility.

Warmups may be impacted, but the Chiefs are doing what they can to make sure it has as little impact as possible.

[UPDATE 3 p.m.>: The equipment has arrived.
