While it likely won't be in New England, suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon may be back in the NFL in 2020.

Listen to your team news NOW.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Gordon intends on playing in 2020. Commissioner Roger Goodell will oversee Gordon's reinstatement attempt where he needs to show steady progress off the field.

Gordon played for the Patriots and Seahawks last season before he was suspended Dec. 16 for violating the NFL's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse. It was his sixth suspension since 2013.

If he gets reinstated, the 28-year-old would be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

There is no timeline on a decision.
