While the NFL's divisional round was kicking off, Julian Edelman's offseason didn't start the way he would have liked.

Listen to your team news NOW.

According to TMZ, Edelman was arrested Saturday night in Beverly Hills for misdemeanor vandalism and released to his friends. The Patriots wide receiver allegedly jumped on the hood of a Mercedes causing damage. Police were already in the area working on a robbery case.

The report adds Edelman was drinking at the time.

Edelman was with Danny Amendola and Paul Pierce at some point during the night, according to Pierce's Instagram.

The L.A. County D.A. will now decide whether or not to press charges, but it's very possible he settles with the car owner and they are dropped.

Edelman, who is 33 years old, reportedly will need multiple offseason procedures to correct shoulder and knee injuries.

The Patriots were knocked out of the playoffs on Wild Card Weekend by the Titans.
