A few weeks ago, Johnny Manziel said he would love to play for the Patriots, but no one really expected it to happen.

While it's still likely not going to happen, the Patriots did see the quarterback work out on Thursday.

According to ESPN's Eric Williams, the Patriots were among 13 teams to see him throw at University of San Diego's pro day.

Other teams included the Bears, Browns, Chargers, Giants, Chiefs, Jets, Raiders, Titans, Lions, Jaguars, Panthers and Buccaneers. He agreed to attend because the school didn't have a quarterback to throw and this would get him in front of NFL scouts.

Manziel hasn't been in the NFL since 2015.

The Patriots are in the market for a quarterback as they look to find Tom Brady's successor.
