On the eve of the first OTA session open to the media, the Patriots announced the hiring of two assistant coaches.

Cameron Achord is the new assistant special teams coach and Atif Austin has been brought on as a coaching assistant. Achord replaces Ray Ventrone, who is now in Indy.

Achord joined Southwest Mississippi as an assistant coach in 2012, where he served in roles as offensive coordinator, special teams, quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends before being named the interim head coach last year. Austin spent the last four seasons as a wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator at North Dakota State.

The Patriots still have yet to announce roles for Bret Bielema and Todd Graham, who were with the organization throughout the draft process.
