Stephen Gostkowski had one of his better games in recent memory against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, as he was 5-for-5 on field goals in the Patriots' 43-40 win.

His 28-yard field goal as time expired was the difference.

Appearing on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Monday, Bill Belichick had tons of praise for his kicker, noting between he and Adam Vinatieri he's never really had to worry about the position.

“Steve has been tremendously consistent," he said. "He works hard. He trains well. He is in good shape. He has a strong leg. He is very poised and disciplined. He doesn’t get rattled. He doesn’t get that high on the big kicks and doesn’t get that low if something goes wrong. He is really steady and consistent. I’ve been so fortunate here to have two great, great kickers. I have never really worried about that position, thankfully.”

Some kickers get nervous before big kicks, but not those two.

“Steve and Adam, I would not put them in that category," Belichick said. "They are confident. They know what they have to do. I don’t think you need a big conversation or kumbaya with them. Let them concentrate on what they are doing and let them go out and do it. That has seemed to work well for them.”

Belichick said he doesn't even need to do much communicating with them based on the position they play.

“Normally there is not a lot to talk about," he said. "Like last night for example, there was positioning of the ball was a factor so we centered the ball to put it in the middle. Often times in our stadium there is a wind situation that you wouldn’t necessarily want it in the middle, you might want it on one hash-mark or another based on the kickers preference. You might talk about that, but for the most part unless you are going to do something unusual there isn’t much to talk about. Like if you were going to use a hard count to draw them offsides if it was a long field goal, or it was fourth-and-less-than-5 and you were trying to run a play like that then obviously you would talk to the kicker about it so he was aware of  it, but otherwise the strategy is pretty straight forward."
