FOXBORO -- When the Patriots selected rookie offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn with pick No. 23 overall in the 2018 NFL draft, it was clear they had big plans for him.

This was apparent this past week when the Georgia product added right tackle to his mix and even got in at the position for the second series against the Eagles Thursday, but towards the end of the quarter he was forced to leave the game with a left ankle injury. The team announced his return as questionable.

After a play, Wynn immediately removed himself from the game and headed straight to the blue medical tent behind the Patriots bench. After a few minutes, a cart was called and he was taken to the locker room. It is certainly not a good sign when a cart is required.

The Patriots hope the injury isn't serious as he was expected to have a major role on the offensive line serving as a backup at a number of spots.
