As is the case this time of year, NFL head coaching jobs are starting to become available and with that comes the Patriots coordinators -- Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia -- being mentioned as potential candidates.

It has already begun following Ben McAdoo being fired by the Giants on Monday and many saying the Giants will be interested in speaking with McDaniels.

On a conference call Tuesday, McDaniels was asked point blank if he has any interest in the opening.

"I'm just interested in the Dolphins right now. That's where my focus is at and that's where it's going to stay," he said.

Before McDaniels, Bill Belichick was asked about knowing when coordinators are ready to make the jump, and he didn't want to get into it.

"I think I've been on the record so many times about our coaches, our coaching staff and questions along those lines," Belichick said. "I mean, there's got to be notebooks full of questions that I've answered about that."

The Giants opening could be the right job for McDaniels, who has interviewed with teams in the past, but has wanted to make sure whatever job he takes is the perfect fit. Given the prestige of the Giants franchise, this could be the one.

Time will tell.
