While the Patriots didn't make a trade on Tuesday, they did make a roster move.

According to the NFL transaction wire, cornerback Eric Rowe (groin) has been placed on injured reserve. He's struggled to stay on the field in recent years, as the free agent to be has missed four games this year after missing eight last year.

It's worth pointing out rookie cornerback Duke Dawson, who began practicing last week, can come off injured reserve next week and may get thrown right into some action.

The move also means the Patriots have an open roster spot on their 53-man roster, which potentially could go to a running back considering they had only two active running backs against the Bills and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was their leading rusher.
