Gillette Stadium will have a new look the next time the Patriots play a home game in Week 3 against the Texans.

The synthetic turf is being ripped up and being changed to another synthetic surface as the prior surface did not meet team standards, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. The report adds players have complained of it being too soft within the last month. The turf was replaced last May.

The last time the Patriots changed playing surfaces after a loss was 2006, going from natural grass to turf after a mud bowl against the Jets on Nov. 12.
