The Patriots continued to do their due diligence with free agents on Wednesday.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots worked out tight ends Will Tye and Evan Baylis.

Tye spent 2015 and 2016 with the Giants as an undrafted free agent, but was released on Sept. 2 of this year. In his his two years he caught 68 passes for 859 yards and four touchdowns. He then signed with the Jets and made his debut on Sept. 10 and had three receptions for 34 yards in the 21–12 loss to the Bills. He was then released on Oct. 3.

Baylis was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Texans out of Oregon and was promoted to the active roster from their practice squad in mid-September, but was released a short time later.

On the active roster the Patriots have Rob Gronkowski, Dwayne Allen and Jacob Hollister as tight ends.
