Hard not to be impressed with N'Keal Harry's first impression with Patriots

N'Keal Harry has only been a member of the Patriots for just over a month, but it's hard to ignore how good of a first impression he's made.

The Arizona State product was very well spoken on his conference call immediately following the selection and also during his introductory press conference with the Kraft family a few weeks later. Then, he was one of the best wide receivers on the field at last week's OTA session open to the media and then last weekend pictures surfaced of him working with Tom Brady and Julian Edelman at the Brady compound.

"It's been good, he's worked hard. He's smart and works hard," Bill Belichick said of Harry last week.

That answer wasn't the standard "he has a long way to go" for most rookies, so it appears Belichick is impressed. And then it takes a lot for Brady to invite him to his house to work with Edelman, so it would seem like Harry has even impressed Brady, despite not speaking in person until last weekend.

When Harry spoke last week, he brought up how he's learning from Edelman every day, mostly when it comes to route running. It's clear the rookie wants to do everything he can to give himself the best chance of making an immediate impact.

It's hard to think back and find a rookie who has stood out this much in the first month after being drafted. Obviously, it's still May and the team hasn't even hit the field in pads, but it sure feels like Harry is on is way to having a very good rookie season with the Patriots.

And given what the Patriots have at wide receiver, it's much needed.

Fundamentals and repetition.
