Apparently wide receiver Corey Coleman didn't go far after being released Monday to make room on the active roster for Josh Gordon.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Coleman has re-signed to the Patriots practice squad. The move wasn't on the NFL transaction wire Wednesday, so it's not known yet what the corresponding move is.

Coleman recorded 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdowns in his two seasons in Cleveland before the Browns sent him to Buffalo in a trade this summer. The Bills let him on cut-down weekend and then he visited a few teams before ultimately signing with the Patriots.

It's very unusual for a recent first-round pick to be on a practice squad, but here we are.
