Mystery solved.

At Thursday's Patriots OTA session open to the media there was a No. 72 playing wide receiver who wasn't on the roster, and now we know who he is -- Gunner Olszewski, from Division II Bemidji State. He participated in the team's rookie minicamp a few weeks back.

Although he was signed as a receiver, he spent his college career as a defensive back. Last season as a senior, Olszewski was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year after finishing with 63 tackles, three interceptions and four passes defensed.

Olszewski also has experience returning punts, which he practiced on Thursday.
