Two days into training camp, the Patriots have made a roster move.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the team has released tight end Troy Niklas and has signed wide receiver Paul Turner. Niklas was signed as a free agent this offseason after spending the first four years of his career in Arizona.

Turner hooked on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and played in four games. He was waived last September, didn't play at all last season, but signed a futures deal with New Orleans in January. He was cut later in the month. The 25-year-old played collegiately at Louisiana Tech.

This could be a sign the team feels good about its tight end depth and wants to make sure it has enough bodies at receiver during camp, which became an issue last season.
