The list keeps on growing.

After it was learned several Patriots are opting out of the season Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday morning so is linebacker Dont'a Hightower.

Hightower revealed on the Double Coverage podcast with the McCourty twins Sunday night he and his fiancée recently had a baby boy. His mother also has Type 2 diabetes.

In addition, WEEI's Nick "Fitzy" Stevens reported running back Brandon Bolden is also opting out.

This means Marcus Cannon, Dan Vitale, Najee Toran, Hightower and Bolden have all opted out as of Tuesday morning.

Specific to losing Hightower, the Patriots really do not have much depth at linebacker and players like Ja'Whaun Bentley and Brandon Copeland will be asked to play bigger roles than they might have anticipated.

Patriots players are reporting early this week for COVID-19 tests. The deadline for players to opt out is reportedly Aug. 1.
