Even though the Patriots were off Sunday, it didn't stop them from making a roster move.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The team officially released wide receiver Dontrelle Inman, which opens a roster spot for Josh Gordon, who was reinstated on Friday.

Inman was signed as a free agent this offseason, but got off to a slow start this summer and had been running with the third and fourth-stringers in the two preseason games. According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Inman requested the release, which isn't surprising given his spot on the depth chart and the addition of Gordon.

Additionally, Gordon reportedly has been placed on NFI (non-football injury list).

In nine games with the Colts last season, the 30-year-old Inman finished with 28 catches for 304 yards and three touchdowns.
