Patriots reportedly put in claim for former Miami DT Jordan Phillips, but didn't get him
The Patriots have very good depth at the defensive tackle position in Malcom Brown, Danny Shelton and Lawrence Guy, but it didn't stop them from looking to add another piece.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots put in a claim for former Miami defensive tackle Jordan Phillips after he was released earlier in the week along with the Saints, Steelers and Bills. Ultimately, Buffalo was awarded him since they had the highest waiver priority.
Phillips was not happy with his role and was frustrated on the sidelines Sunday when taken out of the game against the Patriots.
In three-plus years in the league, the 2015 second-round pick of the Dolphins has 40 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
