FOXBORO -- As is the case with most NFL teams around the league this time of year, they are trying to see as many players as they can in case a need arises.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the team worked out eight players Wednesday. They were: RB Kenjon Barner, DB Quin Blanding, RB Matthew Dayes, WR Brandon Reilly, RB Aaron Ripkowski, LB Martrell Spaight, LB Anthony Winbush, WR Kendall Wright.

Wright is the biggest name on that list, as the 28-year-old has played six seasons in the league between the Titans and Bears. His best year came in 2013 when he recorded 1,079 yards receiving. Last year with the Bears he had 59 catches for 614 yards and a touchdown.

After signing a one-year deal with the Vikings this offseason, he was released last week.

It doesn't appear any signings are imminent, but these could be players the team looks at down the road.
