According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the team has placed offensive lineman Brian Schwenke on the reserve/retired list. Schwenke spent last season with the team, although the majority of it was on injured reserve. He was going to compete for one of the backup interior spots this summer.

The 28-year-old spent five years with the Titans before coming to the Patriots last year.

New England now has Joe Thuney, David Andrews, Shaq Mason, Ted Karras, James Ferentz, Tyler Gauthier and Hjalte Froholdt as interior line depth heading into camp.
