Over the years we've been told the Patriots "ignore the noise," but by now we know that isn't always the case.

Listen to your team news NOW.

It comes up again in America’s Game: 2018 Patriots, which premieres Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on NFL Network following Do Your Job Part III. One of highlights of the program is just how much the Patriots used what was said on the outside to motivate them in the playoffs, thanks to viewing an advance copy.

Following the Patriots beating the Chargers in the divisional round, Tom Brady went on CBS right after the game and was asked about their chances the rest of the way.

“I know everyone thinks we suck and can’t win any games,” Brady said. “So we’ll see.”

This was something that followed the team against the Chiefs on the road and also in the Super Bowl against the Rams.

“He just brought up something that everyone’s been saying about us throughout the whole year and he’s sticking up for our whole team,” Rob Gronkowski says in the program. “He’s sticking up for the whole organization by saying that.”

Julian Edelman adds: “I think he’s genuinely pissed off that people think we suck. 100 percent.”

The hour-long program also features appearances by the McCourty twins, Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels, details the season all the way through the Super Bowl win over the Rams.
