Patriots will have just one active tight end vs. Bears

The following Patriots players are inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears: tight end Rob Gronkowski, tight end Jacob Hollister, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, offensive lineman Brian Schwenke, defensive end Keionta Davis, defensive end Geneo Grissom and defensive end John Simon.

Davis and Schwenke are the only heathy inactives.

The biggest thing worth noting is the Patriots will only have one active tight end -- Dwayne Allen. Allen has just one catch on the season and has been a disappointment as a pass-catcher since coming over from the Colts last season. New England will also miss Gronkowski's blocking ability in the running game.

Look for the Patriots to have a lot of four receiver sets and spread the field to try and make up for the loss of Gronkowski. In terms of targets, Josh Gordon could see more passes thrown his way with Gronkowski and Hollister not on the field.

Gronkowski reportedly will be back next week, but any time the word "back" is mentioned with him, it's cause for concern.
