FOXBORO -- Following the Patriots' 24-12 win over the Bills Sunday, there was a strange sight in the locker room -- the Patriots were rooting for Nick Foles and the Eagles.

Yes, the same quarterback and team that beat them in Super Bowl LII.

The Eagles were playing the Texans and with a win, the Patriots would jump over Houston and into the No. 2 seed in the AFC. It took a two-minute drive leading to a last second field goal, but the Eagles got it done with a 32-30 win.

“Shout out to Nick Foles," Duron Harmon said when a reporter noted they needed some help from the Eagles.

"Fly Eagles fly," Julian Edelman added.

Many of the Patriots players gathered in an area behind the curtains of the locker room and audible cheers were heard when the game-winning kick went through the uprights.

“I didn’t watch it. I was on my phone the whole time," Harmon said. "Refreshing, refreshing. … I was literally refreshing, refreshing like, ‘Come on Nick, do some of that magic that we’ve seen last year.’”

The Patriots safety knows the irony of the team rooting for the team and quarterback that beat them last year in the Super Bowl.

“Just to think about the last two years, I mean Nick Foles plays his best ball in December," Harmon said. "He’s a competitor. We’ve seen that in the Super Bowl. We’ve seen that leading up to the Super Bowl when he had to take over for the Eagles at the quarterback position last year. We knew what type of player he is and he’s doing it all over again, so like I said, [we] thank him for leading that offense today, especially on that two-minute drive. That takes guts against a really good team. The Texans defense, that is as good as anybody out there. We’ll definitely take it.”

With the Eagles win, the Patriots can clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye with a win over the Jets next Sunday.

“I mean, the main thing for us is to just win football games right now," said Harmon. "We have to make sure we are playing our best football next week and the week after, whenever we’ve got to play. That is the main thing we’re worried about, just us. I am thankful for Nick Foles for getting the win, but I would take this team against anybody. We know how good we are. We know how good we can be. We just have to worry about ourselves and make sure every time we step on the field from now on we’re ready to go and play our best ball."
