Sunday's Patriots-Chiefs matchup may be the best game on the NFL schedule this week.

Appearing on Dale & Keefe Thursday, NBC Sports' Peter King agreed and said it's an interesting matchup for the Patriots given the recent history and now having Pat Mahomes at quarterback.

Kansas City has won two out of the last three meetings, including Week 1 last year at Gillette Stadium.

“It really is. When I sort of look at games I look at interesting matchups and one of things that makes this such a compelling matchup is how many times has the NFL seen that next big thing, that next great quarterback come in to challenge the great [Tom] Brady. And here he is. Here he comes," King said. "Obviously the last two times the Patriots have faced the Chiefs with Alex Smith instead of Patrick Mahomes, they have scored in the 40s both times. This is a weird little matchup. It is a strange challenge for the Patriots because the Chiefs have had their number recently. You can’t say that about many teams, you probably can’t say that about any team in the NFL. Here comes the next great thing. I think it will be a lot of fun.”

As for the Rob Gronkowski-Travis Kelce debate, King has a bit of a different take.

“If you asked me for one game who would I take, I would take Gronk," he said. "If you ask me who I would take for the season and the future, I would probably take Kelce just because I can trust Kelce to stay healthy. It’s sort of two questions in one."
